try the callback-driven audio scheduler in PD's devel_0_39 CVS branch. also try the
desiredata branch, which has decoupled the GUI and DSP code..
Did you start pd with the "-rt" switch? In case not, that will help.
(PS. Always add the terminal switches you start a program with when asking for help)
