I'm running 2.4.26 as well and haven't had any problems with Hydrogen.
What version of Hydrogen were you trying to build? Are you using the
Planet? I've used both Trommler and Hydrogen. Hydrogen is a much
better and more complete application.

an error report, with all the details, including the
complete error message given out by Hydrogen's make
file, but I've yet to hear anything back.
Now, if you want to de-bug Hydrogen so it runs
on my kernel 2.4.26 system you are welcome! I would
really like to have it. But as things stand now, the only
drum program that runs for me is Trommler.
And I really like it.
