The crashes are almost always accompanied by the RenderBadPicture error,

The problem has existed for same time now (since maybe ~ wine 0.9.8) and has
already been reported to wine-bugzilla

Maybe it would be good, changing the bug-state to confirmed (new), so that
people finally start working on it?
