(13.10... I like how this version functions overall vs 12.04 or 14.04 & 15.04 last

When selecting the partition to install to, do not use any of the predefined ones like
"whole disk" or shrink current partition, but rather choose the "something
else" option and you should be able to tell it where to put the boot record.
