indeed. Please stop using the Linux Audio Lists to spread OT FUD as a
first step.

Well said and succinctly put.
Q
We always had OT-threads here from time to time. I do not consider this
a problem, as long as it is not more than 1-2%. I think this is tolerable.
If any OT-thread is banned immediately, the result would be a worse.
Hallo Hartmut,
well, now. "banning immediately" is surely exaggerated.
Off-topic threads are not a problem, but thread hijacking and spreading
fear, uncertainty and doubt is;
I am with you in that. The question is: how to cope with that?
I do not think, we have a case of trolling here so I think, to discuss
the stuff in a sensible way is better than ignoring/banning it.
especially if the rant spreads over many
pages and if there's plenty of main-stream media coverage and there are
many better suited fori (forums) to discuss the issue at hand: Write a
blog and send us a link. Or write a song about the issue and we're back
in business ;-)
Would be better, I agree...
There's> 2500 subscribers to this list and it's not only a waste of
resources but may just drive away some of them.
just my two cents,
