Ah, thanks. That should make it easier to sort out with my runlevels as
well as just stopping the intelHDA from loading.
It's the latter (/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist) on Gentoo, just for the record.
Wonder if I shouldn't just get rid of udev and go back to doing things
the old way...
