Any GUI computing disrupts sound, which is why I am using Pd only as
a midi sequencer for most of the time. This is very unfortunate. If the
authors
of Pd finally implement threading, it would be a big event.
That and more - GUI, video, resource (sample / image) loading, heavy
calculations etc. I know there were some components that could load
resources in the background (essential for what I do), but at the time
they were a bit flaky, and had their own ways of doing things rather
than it being built into the core architecture.
