I haven't heard a software B3 that comes close to Winwood's sound on the
original Gimme Some Lovin'.
The B3 is like chocolate. Yes, there are substitutes. No, they don't
taste like chocolate.
... I think the Hammond might could be the original
mad scientist instrument. Long before Robert Moog started building synths, the Hammond had
lots of knobs and buttons and sliders for nerds to play around with.
It's the most popular additive synth ever designed. ;)
