     I've just
updated a whole load of things including jack (to 0.94.0) and
 now I can't connect to jack unless I'm running as root. I can start the
 server Ok as a normal user, but can't connect. Running as root is fine. 
 Thats not normal. Check the permissions on your fifo inodes. 
 ahah, that was it - cheers :) 
 I think thats a bug though - jackd should clear up its fifos, or atleast
 make the permissions ok for future runs. 
it could be due to the fact I've been using random cvs versions up till
now. I think I went from an old cvs version to the current, then back to
0.94.0.
