OK, great, thanks Tino, that sounds promising and maybe what i should
do, or at least consider along with these other alternatives.
It would certainly let me avoid touching my boxes until at least i
have some kind of baseline.
I'm really 1980s, maybe early 90s.

Hi,
the receiver supports receiving AirPlay streams. Pulseaudio also supports playout over
AirPlay, so you could route every application that supports pulseaudio to the receiver.
I guess the most recent effort to support AirPlay in pulseaudio is
