Hello Cal!
Thanks a lot. Being on the "of interest" list is a good thing to start with.
Especially seeing, that there aren't many people, who actually NEED it. That's
what I really love about open source development. You stand a chance.
Longer term thoughts ... set yoshimi up to handle OSC for parameter control, then all
we'd need is a complementary command line app to drive it?
This is the way to
go IMHO and I wish more developers would adopt this
philosophy, as separating the UI from the engine means relative ease in
terms of creating new UIs or even controling the engine from other
applications. It also solves the problem of accessibility at the same
time. For instance, LinuxSampler doesn't have a command-line interface
as such, but its simple network-based protocol makes it extremely easy
to send "scripts" to load libraries or change the way the sampler
behaves.
Cheers,
S.M.
cheers.
