Why don't you overlay it with vector graphics?;). Another noteworthy
thing is that if you don't move the camera, a great deal of the image
does not have to be updated and you could get very clear images with
low bitrate.
The speaker most often does not need to point on the slides. If you
make a little room beside the speaker and keep the camera steady, we
can later add vector graphics on the side or you could do it in
realtime.
Also, how is the audio setup?. Are mics ready to bring to the audience
when they have questions?.
