Jack was heavily influenced by Apple's CoreAudio API. I'm not sure
that Jack has even been out for a year. Maybe almost.
Well, not exactly. The fundamental concepts behind JACK were introduced
already in April 2001 [1]. First public OS X release was in March 2001.
