Ondemand is installed by default. So if you don't have cpufrequtils
installed you could patch /etc/init.d/ondemand without having conflicts.
You could also disable this service and make sure that
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor is set to performance.
