Those units are fantastic : good choice. A matched pair of microphones
is a good idea. The Oktava Mk 012 are not pricey but very good.

Good point. I use a sound devices usbpre2 and am about to buy a second
one. They have a new line called the mixpre but I like this unit more
because it has 2 balanced XLR outputs and the new ones lack that.
