For the record, xine works very well on my 600 MHz Thinkpad with it's
DVD/CD player. It's working hard doing the decoding, but it's pretty clean
and jitter-free, and quite well-behaved. Brings the battery life down to
about 0.01 ms, though...
Perhaps you should mention the supported hardware decoder cards? Isn't
there one from Creative? Anybody using hardware DVD-decoding in Linux?
