I'm extremely happy with my Roland (sometimes
branded Edirol or
Cakewalk) UA25EX. 2 XLR combo inputs, High-Z on one for passive pick-up
type input, headphone monitoring, midi in/out, separate 1/4 and RCA out,
all in a nice aluminium case. Oh, and it's bus-powered. Might be the
ticket. Though I'm not sure about 96K full-duplex, as I find 48K enough
for me.

Had a look at the spec for this online and it looks very interesting. However,
is the High Z input balanced? (I don't suppose you know what the actual
impedance is). Also are the 1/4in outputs balanced?
Hi-Z input is balanced as are the 1/4" outputs. Impedance desn't seem
to be stated anywhere.
