Strange, since in Germany it's not allowed and not possible by any trick
to rescue your children from visiting a school, so some Germans emigrate
to the USA, where it's allowed, or at least possible. Perhaps similar
school systems, but different laws.
IIRC, Japan adopted the German education system in the early 1900s. USA
some time after that. So I'm sure all three systems have changed
independently since then. Both Germany and Japan have a much greater
respect for hierarchy than much of the US does!
