1. Kill off pulse.
2. In terminal 1 start jack with

JACK server not running?
About 20 seconds later the metronome exits and jack exits as well:

However, if I use hw:0,0 I can connect the metronome using qjackctl.
In this case it play though the regular audio port, not the digital.
