I don't think, this is really true anymore. This was true, when there
were cables running from the sound(blaster)card to the CD-Rom drive,
which acted like a kind of antenna to collect electrical noise and
induce it into the soundcard.
I think the problem has been improved, but not eliminated.
Check the noise specs for Delta-66 vs Delta-1010 - the 1010
is several dB quieter.
That said, the 66 is pretty darn quiet in my pc.
