Hi,
I have a few questions about Session Management in an Arch Linux system.
I want to use seq24 to control hydrogen and yoshimi, which works
fine. However, when I save the session (I tried qjackctl and Non Session
Manager) and reload it the order of the ALSA MIDI ports gets mixed up. This
leads to drum patters played via yoshimi instead of hydrogen, for example.
A while ago I tried to install claudia from AUR but it depends on ladish, and
that is not available (ladish.org is down). Is ladish dead?
If someone could point me into the right direction I would highly appreciate
it.

You can try the pre-compiled binaries:

Although I'm still exploring, the whole set of tools works rather well
in fedora 20.

Assumed a PKGBULD isn't available , it's useful to use aur-git to get

Ok, I managed to install klaudia-git and ladish-git via yaourt, which is the
way I usually install/upgrade packages. (Why is it called klaudia instead of
claudia!?)
klaudia works fine and it can save and restore the ALSA MIDI ports as well. At
least it worked as expected in the few tests that I did.
But I still have some problems: saving and restoring presets (like drumkits in
hydrogen or sounds in yoshimi) doesn't work. From what I read about session
management I would say that Level 2 session management is required for
this. But I cannot choose that in klaudia.
When I save the session in qjackctl and restore it, all the sound presets are
loaded as expected. (But the MIDI ports are mixed up ...)
There should be quite some people on this list using a similar setup. I wonder
how you deal with these issues.

I'm not using a session manager. Using scripts there's only one issue.
There's no way to give identical sound cards individual MIDI names.

Neither QjackCtl, nor aj-snapshot is able to distinguish the TerraTec
devices.
Is this the issue you experience? If so, then AFAIK there's nothing you
can do.

I run a2jmidid [1] and at the end of the script aj-snapshot [2], to
connect Qtractor -> Yoshimi. From the file generated and restored by
aj-snapshot [3]. This always works. It's a very old script and I needed
to rewrite it regarding broken backwards compatibility issues :(, but I
had nothing to do regarding the MIDI connection between Qtractor and
two instances of Yoshimi, they still are automatically connected.

My apologies I missed this, git source isn't down, so try to use a git
PKGBUILD.
