Hello,
I have recently bought the ice1712-based DSP2000 C-PORT from Hoontech and
I'm really satisfied with it. I only have a little problem: MIDI!
The card has 1 MIDI in and 2 MIDI out, and the 2 outs are working fine.
However, I can't get anything from MIDI in :-(
Anyone has that card and can confirm this problem or I have to check my
hardware? Maybe ALSA get confused? With aconnect I see 2 devices (0 and 32)
both as inputs and as outputs...
I've tried on the staudio.com forum and they suggest to test the card under
windows, but (ehm..) I don't have it...
Any suggestions?

I also found several other reports on this using google.
Is there any info on wether this is fixed in the current alsa release?
(i'm still using 0.9.8 since libasound-1.x.x is not yet in Debian's
testing branch)

Hello Lukas,
look into the list of ALSA-supported soundcards. It will tell you the
"Hoontech DSP24", which is the base of the ST Audio DSP2000, is
"Possible to support, but no driver has been written yet". The status of
the card is "untested".
FYI, I also own such a card.

I'm running ALSA 1.0.0rc2 (PlanetCCRMA bundle), and to be honest I didn't
have time to test it again, but browsing the alsa cvs
(http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/alsa/), I don't see any comments on
that (supposing I'm looking in the right place).
Please let me know of any further news about this topic.
