headphone monitor, etc. (And hooked directly into a Soundcraft Compact
10 mixer.)
One day I might actually get the time to use all this - haven't even had
the chance build myself a non-crashing Rosegarden yet :-(

New subject: Intel-HDA sound issues
Hi,
I've got 3 periods per buffer, and as I sid everything used to be all fine
and dandy. So it's either the upgraded ubuntu realtime kernel, some
modules therein, latest jack, or the fact that my wife's had a baby
that's caused the problems.
If anyone has settings that work with the Intel-HDA (kernel name, jack
version, modules used) that would be much appreciated. Or if anyone's had
a baby and that's caused their computer to misbehave.

My boy isn't old enough to crawl towards my computer. But if if could, he sure
drools enough to cause misbehaving...
But since we have the boy, I didn't have that much time for music and
computer...

BTW: The only thing "high" in the the hda-chip is the name. Otherwise it is
complete crap. It even beats the AC97 in crappiness. I wouldn't spend any
time on trying to make it work with low latency...

Try to run "qsynth -a jack" (see "qsynth --help" for more commandline

I wish people would stop repeating this obsolete info. Use a recent

The problem is probably with a) the Gentoo ebuild (package) and/or b)
the version of KDE that I had installed. I've updated KDE but haven't
yet had the chance to build Rosegarden again - and this time doing it
from source, not letting the Gentoo ebuild do its thang.
This is NOT an issue with the Intel HDA soundcard.
