Hello Edgar,
Hello List,
Looks like you want the package
"midisport-firmware" from Takashi
Iwai's multimedia:/audio
repository on the openSUSE buildserver, for
10.2 look here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/audio/openSUSE_10.2/
The rpm has firmware files for:
- MidiSport 1x1, 2x2, 4x4, 8x8 and Uno
- Keystation
- Oxygen
- Radium
Well, that doesn't work either for my Oxygen *8*. I installed the
firmware correctly,
the system recognizes the usb-device after plugging in but no firmware
gets loaded.
Oh I wasn't aware that the 8 makes a difference, I have an Axiom61 which does
not need any firmware.
I had a probably similar problem with my MidiSport 2x2, which I bought this
summer and which had another ProductID than the one the udev rule was looking
for. Read this bug report to see how Takashi fixed it, and what he wanted me
to do to get the needed information:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334127
Is it possible to load it manually?
Or another idea?
Look at the comments #1 - #6 in the bug report. You should examine the oxygen udev rule
and be able how to modify the call to fxload then, I guess. If it gets too complicated,
maybe open your own bug ;) I can't really tell how much oxygen8 differs from oxygen,
or
if that is the reason at all...
Does anyone has a M-Audio (former Midiman) Oxygen *8* running?
As i said: It works when i boot windows and then boot linux again....
how strange is that?!
Not strange at all, as Clemens said already: the Windows driver loads the firmware,
and it stays there as long as the device is powered by USB.
Best regards,
Sebastian.
PS: Sorry for sending it to you twice, Edgar! My bad.
