Hi Thomas,
hdsploader cand find my card for some reason:
hdsploader:
[root@localhost robcanning]# hdsploader

Looking for HDSP + Multiface or Digiface cards :

yet lspci -vv reveals:

What do you see if you do a "cat /proc/asound/cards"? Do you see both
cards or just your motherboard sound chip?

That means the card is recognized by the pci subsystem, it does not tell
you anything about alsa (ie: the card could be there with no driver
loaded).

Hi Rob,
You should first check if the module was properly loaded (/sbin/lsmod),
then check you modules.conf file. In one of your previous mails one hdsp
line looked dodgy :
alias snd-card-0ntitlntitled 1ntitled 1ed 1 snd-hdsp
Maybe you should run alsaconf again to start from a clean basis.
