Folks,
Surely this question was asked before. Recebtly there was a short
thread about archive.org which proposed other sites where music can be
uploaded. They all looked pretty fancy to me who is not doing that
much with music. I'd just like to know of some place where it is
possible to upload some music files to share. I don't want to make a
career nor do I have a promo for an album. I don't even finish the
toons I start. You know, a just for fun type of thing. Free. And
possibly withotu any small-letter clause that says that once uploaded
the coyrights of the toon is given to the site operators.
Are there any places like these ? If you know any, please let me
know.

Hi,
you can post your album in http://www.jamendo.com it's free, but you have to
distribute your album under Creative Commons licence.

Yes, but these look so much like for people who actually have some
stuff to push forward. I do not. I only want some free space where I
can put some sketches and have eventually people get it and listem to
it. No album. No promotion. No nothing.

That is true, in Jamendo, you have to post an entire album...
Ca me derange pas pantoute que ce soit en francais, since downlaods are
downlaods and usually they speak binary. I'm looking more for a simple
place where it's possible to upload stuff. I use to have a geocities
account and that's the kind of place where it's possible to put stuff
for other folks to download. I am no artist although I like making
music and would get a chuckle or two ferom reading eventual (if
any at all !) comments from other folks listening to some stuff I made.

A lot of bands have pages on MySpace - don't know if that means MySpace
does a better job of handling audio files than the others do, or if that
just means MySpace is where the customers hang out.

I've tried LiveJournal, the free 'Plus' type of account. But could not
find how to upload a music file. I tried as a picture but the system
ignoered it. There's VoiceMail (or something like that) but that's
entierely different and works with phones.
Have you actually tried these places knwoing that you can post music
files or are you just throwing them in the wind ?

Then you can just send mails with your ogg files, etc.
