Hi,
Here's a new song that I thought i'd like to share:

It's slightly different from the other songs that I've been working with
lately, but anyhow I think it's going to be included in my first album,
due to be out in January 2010. I've no idea about the genre.
I used Ardour, Qsynth and Hydrogen with Debian/64Studio. Plus acoustic
guitar, mic, and yes, melodica!

Hello Tapani!
This is again a beautiful song from you. The sound is very full and
comforting. The harmonica fits in very well, I wouldn't have believed it,
before I heard it. Will your album be free for download? I'd rather like to
hear it.

It shall be folk then :D
The rest of the album will probably be closer to trip hop or even dark
ambient, but I try to keep the rootsy elements there as well. It will be
free for downloading and if someone wants to pay for a hard copy, it
should be possible too. I'm somewhat puzzled in the jungle of CC
licences and stuff, even if "all rights reserved" does not sound so good
either. Every time I try to read about the matter I feel urgent need to
do the dishes or go jogging.

Hello!
As to the CC stuff, I can feel with you. I someties get back there, but then
decide to say "free like in free beer, if anyone has a question, wants to do
something with it, just ask." And so I settle back to do something else
istead, promising to go back one day and finally come clear with it. :-)
I still have the other song, I noticed posted on this list. It is indeed
very different, but somehow... Somehow, they share something. I can't even
define what exactly it is, it's down below the obvious things like arrangement
or melody or style...

I personally think BY-SA is a great license even if you want to make some
money off of your work but it may take some outside of the box thinking to
get your head around that.

Very nice! It floated by on shuffle on my Fuze, and I went, "Wow, who is that?".
The Melodica is a great touch.
