that the ALSA "default" device is a poor choice for JACK.
Long ago, the JACK ALSA backend used that as its default. Because
that doesn't work very well, that backend was changed to use `-dhw:0'
as its default, instead.
yeah when I run jack I HAVE to use -d hw:0 - can't let it do "default" it
doesn't work at all (or poorly)
If so, you must have a really *old* version of JACK.
The default -d parameter was changed to "hw:0" in Oct. of 2003.
