OK, I put together some docs and sample/test code you can use to make sure your Tranzport is working, and to integrate it with your own programs. You can get it at http://tranzport.sf.net Work still needs to be done if you want to use the Tranzport with something like Ardour (or whatever you use) but the low level stuff is there. I don't use Ardour so I wouldn't know how to do that. (just FYI) I am using the Tranzport to control my "DAW", which consists of a fanless/headless Mini-ITX system and a Hammerfall PCI card. I record directly to RAM so there are no moving parts and no noise. On the software end I have a little program I wrote to do the multi-track recording/playback stuff through JACK. Then there's the program that provides the user interface through the Tranzport. Nothing fancy, but that's the way I like it. Keeps the CPU requirements down to a minimum.
