Even if OM is compiled as a 32-bit application it will work just as well on 64-bit OS'es/cpu's. I'm using 64-bit Fedora for all my development work w. OM myself. If OM is installed from the provided RPM or DEB packages (should go well with any up-to-date distro based on Fedora/Redhat or Ubuntu/Debian), any required 32-bit lib will be installed automatically, without interfering with 64-bit versions of the same libs. If you need something else (e.g. Arch?), i can provide a tarball with everything you need vs. OpenMusic. Then you'll have to handle the dependencies yourself. Please get in touch. Cheers, -anders

Hi Daniel. Yes, i remember the previous round. Did you pinpoint this to the 32bit libgdk_pixbuf on your machine? Note that the multiarch business is a work in progress so that portmidi0:i386 installation knocks out the 64-bit libportmidi0 and python-pypm and this knocks out frescobaldi, a neat python-based editor for Lilypond score files! Attempts to reinstall Rescobaldi knock out the libportmidi0 and openmusic and revert to the 64 bit versions.

Just checked for a jackd1:i386 package as well, but it doesn't seem to be one for Ubuntu (14.04.1) in the standard repos :-/ jackd can be any bitsize it wants, OM doesn't care as long as it can connect to a running server or get one booted. But the .deb will complain if it can't find a candidate. I'll check if there's a way around this and upload a new .deb. Perhaps some ubuntu-savvy here knows - how to have a DEBIAN/control which disregards what architecture the jackd2 package is for? -anders

Ubuntu gets these packages as is from the Debian Multimedia Maintainers.
