H Ken! Engaging tune! Well played. I like the clav! :-) Not sure how much is that due to the clav itself or Fons' fantastic auto-wah. It's a very nice session. I think I like everything about it, except, that the vocals are a bit low in the mix. Hi Ken! I love them both. I think the vocals are slightly more inspired in the second recording and so is the drumming. I especially like the short fill before the second verse. :-) But in the second recording the guitarist doesn't seem at his best. Let's put it that way: compared to the other recording, he sounds more hesitant, less sure of himself somehow. Very nice piece and very good performance over all! Please give us more from that! Thanks! That song was always a crowd-pleaser. It was our closer for a year. I think that night the crowd was buying the guitarist shots, and this was our last song. And IIRC he was jumping around in the audience on the dance floor during this song. Live band recordings are often like group photos. "Steve Wonder's Clavinet-Wah" (Perhaps a D6 and what Wah ever or a Synclavier?) is ok, but not the best (to avoid too much name-calling, "even" "The Wailers" use a D6 + Cry Baby (or Ibanez Blubber, but hopefully never ever a Morley Wah) better than AFAIK Mr. Wonder ever did (I might be mistaken), while Sabbath is bedrock of heavy rock, some Jazz musicians might call Deep Purple bedrock instead. Wow, I'll read mails backwards and hopefully find the link to Steve Sabbath. Read it sounds something between very interesting and insane ;). - Ralf

Ok, didn't meant to be precise about the comparison, just red "Clavinet" and heard Wah and it reminded me the beginning of "Higher Ground". http://www.mu-tron.org/images/stevietab.gif Yes, I was mistaken regarding to often used Wah-Whas for a D6. I suspect that they are often automated Whas/Envelope Thingy. I once owned a good Wah/Envelope Thingy, but I was young and didn't like the noise it made, so I exchanged it and got a Boss T Wah TW-1 instead. I can't recommend the Boss T Wah. Regarding to the effects often used with a D6, I guess sometimes the Wah effect is more a Phaser, than a Wah.
