The purpose of Mplayer and more or less its primary power is, that it
supports each and every media-codec in existence. So a mplayer-frontend
that not even supports OGG vorbis appeareth kind of strange to me.
A non-free licensed multimedia-player could be interesting if it allows
to play encrypted DVDs and maybe even copy-restricted files but what
reason shall I have to use a player, that I have to install from a
website, if it only offers a fraction of the features I get from Amarok
with a few mouseclicks in a package-manager?
