Is this original packaging? Have you considered contributing these packages to
the Ubuntu project for use in the Universe repository? Are you aware of the
Ubuntu Studio project, who would likely be happy to handle that for you?
If you're gonna do the work, might as well get the packages to the official
repositories so that more people have access :)

yes, i'm aware of them, and no, they won't handle it for me (too busy i
was told).
If you're gonna do the work, might as well get the
packages to the official
repositories so that more people have access :)
since i'm mostly busy with coding the whole thing, i'd prefer someone
else to take care of that. it's a proof of concept, and a starter for
packagers.

I tried to build this last batch myself (Fiesty) and had nothing but
problems. Pre-packaged debs are a beautiful thing!
