Hey guys!
Trying to use Hydrogen for Midi Output. It does not work.
1. At first nothing was playing, although I saw a synth plugin receive
midi. I then found this topic: http://hydrogen-music.org/hcms/node/1788
2. I then loaded the sample just so that Hydrogen would not set midi note
to 0. Now I do get some notes, but only occasionally. Looks like some notes
are output with duration 0 and some are not, with no apparent reason.
Am I doing smth wrong here?

Hello Louigi,
According to the topic you mention:
"all h2 midi out messages will generated in dependency to the used
instrument sample. for example, if you use a instrument without a sample
you hear nothing. because note on will generated with zero velocity and
a note off follow immediately."
So it depends on the length of the used sample, more info here:

Yes, I have tried it, however, it does not work. The results are erratic.
If I play a bass line with a note on each beat, it would play 1 note, then
not play anything at all, then suddenly play 2 notes, then silence again.
Using note off does not help. Using shorter or longer samples loaded does
not help either.

are you working in song or pattern mode ? and if you are using pattern
mode, are
you working in stacked mode or 'normal' mode?
also are you using note on/off notation or note length ?

Then try raising the polyphony setting in Hydrogen and try using shorter
samples for shorter notes

Jeremy: my poly setting was at 256. Made it into 500. Using short samples,
long samples - no sound at all.
thijs van severen: pattern/song mode. I don't know what stacked mode is, so
probably normal. Tried both note length and note off. No sound.
