Evening all.
I'm searching for a standalone mixer to work with jack, so i can route some
bits through it. Any number of channel strips would be ok, but the bigger
the better.
I'm also looking for a single gain strip, with meter, that will do the same
thing for one stereo input / stereo output. (I'll settle for two mono gain
meter strips as well.)
I'm using dual boot Linux/Ubuntustudio Hardy, 32 and 64bit..
Any help would be welcome, and i'm using patchage, and Ingen, for patchbay,
and plugin management respectively.

all sizes and flavors (fixed channels, variable channels, matrix, qt-based,
gtk-based, opengl-based, you name it...). Needless to say that I would use
jackmix for the job if you don't need plugins on the tracks.

had occasion to need a mixing app, and Ardour is already installed and

Plus I figured I'd hit record just for the heck of it, even though I
hadn't been asked to do any recording, just help out with the live sound.
Afterwards, a couple of people said "Wow, I wish we had recorded this
evening's performance, it was pretty good." I was able to look like
quite the hero!

I've got 2 instances of ardour running (Ubuntustudio hardy 64bit), and
everything seems to be working alright.
I'll explore the other option as well Arnold, with your jackmix app.

If you 're using Ingen, which is a modular environment, why do you
need a mixer? Why not make a mixer subpatch?
