hey, you only need to do that once.
there is a amarok's script for replaygain (called
replaygain) that works greatly;
it can be downloaded from kde-apps or (i think)
from
amarok itself.

No, it's an ugly workaround.
It's just a script that changes the (!)main volume
of the application,
which means that you can't use the applications
volume control anymore
or you will mess up the replaygain of the currently
playing song, and
the replaygain of the next song will mess up your
set volume.
I don't know other limitations off the top of the
head.
Maybe amarok2 will fix that by having replaygain
built-in.
maybe i don't understand, what you are searching, but
in replaygain preferences there is an option to enable
use of main volume to control replaygain;
i think that i wrote in cyrillic :-)
