Hello, all,
Hydrogen has some very nice sounding sets, but in each and every one of
them, the open hi-hat is not muted by the pedal. I was wondering whether
that was somehow configurable or whether it was just idiosyncratic to
hydrogen. I'm not using the GUI, of course, just driving the engine
through midi, so perhaps that is the reason for this behaviour?

When using hydrogen, then I'm using it the same way. Hm, I dunno,
because I'm seldom using it for HiHat, but perhaps 'Mute Group'?

Hello Massy!
I've looked it up in the drumkit I'm using. Edit your XML file, look for the
entry for the hihats and add the command:
<muteGroup>0</muteGroup>
In my hydrogen file it's just above the <layer> tag. I suppose if you need
you can have more muteGroups continuing at 1, 2, ... good luck!

Ok, it's mute group, than use the GUI. Instrument > General, right
beside gain

The GUI might be less good in Braille :D. Btw. I once tested Orca screen
reader to use a DE with eyes closed, it was terrible. Orca said what I
did with the mouse, when it was to late, it didn't read before I clicked
inside a pull down menu.

Excellent pointer, and thanks to everyone who responded. yes, it looks
like you can assign arbitrary indices and define as many MuteGroups as
you like.

Definately mute groups... and it's documented in the manual.
(At least it was in 0.9.4).
