Dear seq24 users,
a new seq24 release is out published by the Seq24team.

This release fixes a few bugs and provides some new features which
mainly extend session functionality; for details please have a look
at the news list below. All users should upgrade to 0.9.2.

* Fix tooltip usage for older GTK versions (GTK_MINOR_VERSION < 12)
* Fix sched_param memory leaks
* Fix doubled key event for screen set name line
New Features
* Add support for jack session, patch provided by Torben Hohn
* Add interrupt handler for SIGUSR1 to enable LADISH level 1 support
* Add interrupt handler for SIGINT to ask for unsaved file changes
* Remove "-f" command line option to be replaced by a simple <filename>
argument (see "seq24 --help" for more information)
General Changes
* Add mnemonics for bottom line widgets in main window and label for
screen set name edit line
* Add missing command line parameters to help message, display short
options as well
* Add command line option for program version

* Remove complaints about file read error if configuration files do not

* Cleanup configure.in: remove unused variables, harmonize option
enabling/disabling

Nice to see that seq24's developpment is back. Thank you for your work.
Several years ago (in summer 2008, actually), I made several (crappy)
patches for seq24 which lead to "features" that I needed:
- play/stop/play from beginning can be bind to any MIDI control
(PC, CC, note, and so on),
- change of the number of lines/columns (I wanted to extend this so that
it could be saved in file, so that it would just have been part of it
and not something depending on seq24),
- menus for number of bars and numerators of bars were writable, so that
you can set anything you want (especially useful when dealing with
asymetric bars),
I wanted to know whether you'd be interested in them, and if yes, what
you suggest to me to put them back to your branches of seq24.
But, still, I'm not a skilled dev, and once again, some things are quite
crappy, or might be buggy (not on my machines, though).
I just download the new version (0.9.2) and I am about to apply my
patches on it, so that I'll check if it works.

Wee bit late but the 64bit Lucid package segfaults on my machine where
the 0.9.2 package from the Tango Studio repo works fine. Just FYI.

I'm getting a Segmentation fault on Ubuntu 9.10 after compiling 0.9.2
from source during the execution.
Version 0.9.1 worked perfectly.
Please find installation logs to check if something is wrong.

Hello Diego,
You would apply this patch to your existing 0.9.2 source. Grab the
diff file and place it with your downloaded seq24 tarball. You'll need
to rename the seq24 directory in order to apply this particular patch.
Here's how to do it. Adjust as needed for your particular setup.
~$ tar -xjf seq-0.9.2.tar.bz2
~$ mv seq24-0.9.2 new
~$ patch -p0 < seq24-0.9.2-lash-fix.diff
You'll get messages about files being patched in new/src. After this,
compile and install normally. If you take a look at the diff file with
a text editor, you can get an idea how it works.
