Hi,
not new to the list but been out for a "while" :-)
I am having fun with Ardour since last few months and wondering what do you
use for bass guitar on your channel strip.
For eg. I am currently using ACE fluid synth + TamgampX
Is there any plugin I am not aware of?

The Rumor is pure, nasty growling bass fuzz pedal, with bold out-front
presence, and cutting articulation.

Usually, I use my..... bass guitar !;) (and several processings, eq,
comp, bass enhancer, there are many options on that point)
But I also use several Zynaddsubfx (for some Quentin Dupieux-like and
Dancehall or Dubstep Bass), also Calf Monosynth, with which I find it
really easy to build trap and cloud rap basses, or big fat basses like
80s rap (Snoop Dogg).
Before I was using Alsa Modular Synth (which presets bass.ams and
bass_advenv.ams are just fine, imho), I do not anymore, no good reason
for that except that Alsa Modular Synth is not in my workflow anymore.

Are you telling that you found a suitable plug to convert audio to MIDI
notes and drive soft synths with your bass? Cause I never found one
which might work with sufficient low-latency and enough accuracy.

I'd recommend you look up their web pages, and video demos. You can
'play' it in various
modes - there's a row of little finger that you do finger-picking on
while chording on

when you tap on the fretboard, which means I can play one-handed - using
the other hand
to hold the instrument.

Either a rickenbacker or Ibanez into an A12 audio IF. Add some eq to
emphasize it while keeping it out of the way of other stuff. I normally
monitor with more high end than what gets recorded if recorded with a lot
of other noise around (live recording for example).
