Hi
I am searching a list of digital optical output sound card usable with
alsa.
What is the best choice for you ?
(cheap if possible :))

I don't know if was the best choice, but it was cheap: I use M-Audio DIO
2448. It doesn't have any analog in, only analog out (for monitoring) and
S/PDIF in and out both optical and coax.
At the time (couple of years ago) I couldn't get ALSA to work, but it does
what I need with OSS. The card has alwyas been on the ALSA hardwre chart
so you may be more lucky.

I just found a card of mine with a coax output, not optical, but i will
try to get it working
it is a ymf 724E and i think it's supported with alsa
do you think it's to plug it into a A/V amplifier ?
