Hi,
I've just bought an ESI-Audio Gigaport-Ex to provide 8 output channels.
When I connect up to my Laptop which is running Debain 12 with Pipewire,
it appears on qpwgraph, but only shows two channels (Front-L + Front-R).
How can I persuade it to show all 8?

Open pavucontrol or install it if you dont have it yet. And change interface profile to
"Pro Audio"

Pipewire usually has a configuration labeled pro-audio mode or something similar which
will expose all channels. Look in whichever audio configuration app is used in Debian to
see if there is a per-device configuration option that allows setting that.
I'm sure there is also a way to set that using config files, but I'm not familiar
with those details from memory.

Try changing the device profile to "pro audio" on the configuration page of
pulseaudio volume control (yes, i know it says pulseaudio but it controls
pipewire now)

That has done the trick. Will that apply after reboots, or do I need to
set it every time I boot up?
I'm just testing on my laptop - the intended use is on the church organ,
which boots up headless most
of the time. I've not located any pippewire or wireplumber config file yet.
