Hi,
Just for fun I created a google map for linux audio users to post their
location (and IRC handle), if they so desire. I've seen it done with
other groups, so I thought we needed one of our own. :-)

Though, ehm, it seems anyone can move locations, is this perhaps a setting?
Maybe it's just my own view, didn't look that way though.
ScottL, if you are reading this, I mistakenly happened to move your icon,
you might want to move it back to where it was. Or you could move, I
guess...

Yeah, if you can edit, apparently you can edit everything.
When you move an icon, Google immediately asks if you meant to do that,
and offers you an UNDO. So please be careful and take advantage of that
immediate undo if anyone accidentally moves someone's locations.

Why don't you do this with Apple Maps? It wouldn't matter where you put the
iconsas everybody would apparently be in Rio.

If you accidentally move someone else's icon, Google will immediately

didn't put your IRC handle in there, just your street address. Not sure

An even better idea would be to tell us how to place a pin. Its not
obvious.

Well now, I can figure out REW and DRC, even sendmail.cf at one
time, but somehow I can't figure out how to place my location on
this map. Got any pointers?

Click on 'Edit' and you will see three new buttons pop up on the map, one
of which is to place a marker on the map.

looked for something like that. Not that the place I added persisted
past my edit. But, at least it let me add one. ;-)

I'm still having difficulty with it. How were you able to add the
marker and give it an icon? Google thinks I was editing the map and
adding a permanent location. I put myself in a tree.
