Hi,
(I am replying to my last thread here). I managed to get this card to
work by putting the firmware files in /lib/firmware/emi26 instead.
Now I only have to make jack or any other software use it (no luck so
far).
Thanks again though!

Roger, Jannis, thank you for your kind replies and
hints!
Installed bitstream.fw firmware.fw and loader.fw into /usr/lib/firmware/
but am still getting the same errors upon connecting the card in
dmesg/journalctl:
emi26 - firmware loader 1-1.2:1.0: emi26_probe start
usb 1-1.2: firmware: failed to load emi26/loader.fw (-2)
usb 1-1.2: Direct firmware load for emi26/loader.fw failed with error -2
usb 1-1.2: emi26_load_firmware - error loading firmware: error = -2
emi26 - firmware loader: probe of 1-1.2:1.0 failed with error -5
usbcore: registered new interface driver emi26 - firmware loader
I also tried installed firmware-linux-nonfree which on Debian is
nowadays only a metapackage relying mainly on /firmware-misc-nonfree
which does not contain files for emi26 anymore.
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/firmware-misc-nonfree
One of the very few related web searches brings this up
http://fedora.riscv.rocks:3000/davidlt/kernel-ark/commit/16c23f7d88cbcce491…
but I am not sure if I am affected by it or if the commit ever made it
into Debian...
Any other hints well appreciated!
Thanks again!
