I have used this more for importing abc files to get lead sheets and tabs. For scoring, I have been using noteedit and waiting for musescore to get a few kinks out--this will become a linux GPL Sibelius. He is interested in engraving, not tablature, but is willing to listen. In the end, a staff book, pen and typex still reign :-) (For production, audio stuff awaits a new pro-card with linux support (no $$) but most of my MIDI tools run in Wine: Jammer Pro (operates of lead sheets), Style-enhancer, etc. All this stuff can feed into Rosegarden or one of the newer upstarts. A few VSTs to replace the dx's I've used with Cakewalk and I can roll in Linux.)
