[a-little-OT] Seq24 cannot make changes to bpm itself but it
listens to tempo changes from i,e, Ardour.

There is no need to create two songs.
Create two patterns with the same midi output
settings (or copy, paste and alter your first one).
They will both appear in the song editor, like
seen in Edgars picture.
When in song mode you only hear patterns that
are arranged into the timeline of the song editor.
Patches can be muted and unmuted there by
clicking the 'M'.
--- I'd love to have a fast way to switch between
live mode and song mode in seq24

I made a quick test setup for this scenario, and it
seems to work here
(using kmidimon to see events on screen):
1) launched seq24 and kmidimon
2) created 2 patterns, connected both of them to kmidimon
3) opened the song editor, put some bars of each pattern to the track timeline
4) pressed play in the song editor
and voila, kmidimon receives data.
Here's a screenshot of the setup:

hope that helps,
