I think, this bug was fixed in ALSA CVS.

I had a similar problem with a 2.6.12 kernel. I'm
afraid that there is a
bug with the emu10k driver or that mic boost is off and you can't turn
it on with alsamixergui. In particular, when I had this problem, the
"mic boost" control didn't appear in alsamixergui...
Downgrade to kernel 2.6.11 and see what happens.
I'd like to report this but I don't know where I should do it and I want
to make sure it isn't a config issue. Suggestions?

Hi,
I have some recording problems with a "Creative Labs SB Audigy FireWire
Port" card.
Alsa conf is ok and all works as expected, except when I try to connect
a guitar in the mic input: no guitar sound.

It is not a hardware probem: I reboot on windows to test it and it works
ok.
Any idea?
