Hi list,
can't find the way to edit single MIDI note velocity.
Someone could help please ?

Need more detail on what software you're using. Also, are you looking
for something to use with a MIDI port... or are you trying to edit a
Simple MIDI FIle (.mid)?

Thanks for the quick reply anyway, and have find Ctrl+right clic in
Ardour3 to do the job !!

What software are you using? Any sequencer has this functionality.

Rosegarden will let you do this.

mf2t infile.mid | some-complicated-expression | t2mf >outfile.mid
Lots of other sequencers/editors will do this.

I just went looking for mf2t. I found it at

Is this what you are were referring to? Is this the last version?
It needs a bit of an update to compile it with modern gcc:

but then works just fine. A handy instrumentation tool.
Does anyone here know Piet Van Oostrum? He wrote mf2t. The source-code
comes without any license. There are various binaries for Windows95 and
98 and XP floating around; but it may be bit too over-optimistic to
assume that it is public-domain. If not I may try to drop him a line:

Hello Robin,
Just spoke to my neighbour/train buddy/Unix & Latex guru and he knows
Piet van Oostrum. He could also tell me that basically all the software
Piet has released is public domain.
