Hi all,
I've got a question regarding Ardour...
Is there a possibility to play along with recorded material and not record,
and still do the monitoring through Ardour?
When I push play the Audio from an unrecorded track mutes and only comes
back when I start recording, this is sort of frustrating when trying to make
a Punch in with musicians that prefer to hear them self and not the track
already recorded...
I had no succes finding such an option so what I'm doing now is doing thew
monitoring with the rme HDSP mixer...

Sure! How else could one record, overdub, or punch in a new track?

What's your setting of the "Auto Input" button?
Mine is set "on" (lit green).

As mentioned, I've solved it by routing the input track directly to
either the master bus, or the actual soundcard outputs, can't remember
which. An option in Ardour for it would be nice though, I think all
other DAW programs I've used actually does this by default.

I think I solved it by turning Auto Input off (not lit green). And also my
system is set so Ardour does monitoring.
