Hi,
I've been looking intro LADSPA compressor plugins last night, but didn't
quite find what I was searching for. Perhaps someone can point me in the
right direction.
What I found were Steve Harris' SC plugins which are really nice, but
only the SC4 has graphical displays of amplitude and gain reduction. I
was looking for something like the SC1 feature-wise, but with these two
displays.

Someone (sorry, cnat remember your name) sent me a patch to produce a mono
version of SC4, I'l release it soon.

New subject: [linux-audio-user] Audio Analyzer
Hi all!
I need one program to analyze one wav file.
So, I have one wav file and I need create one shell script to get
informations of this file like if the file have some sound (I think it's
db).
I need make one shell script and I'm not intend to use X Window or
other GUI resource.
Someone can help me?

sndfile-info will tell you the maximum level in the file, along with
bit depth, stereo/mono, and a few other things. It's a command line
program so it should be a good starting point.

If you only want human interpretable output, you could try:

Which will give you a detailed visualization of the sound
level content.

How do I use this on a single wave file. I noticed a problem in Jack
Bitscope and wanted to try this out but so far it produces nothing for
me.

It only works as a filter, so:
vu foo.wav
will not work:
vu < foo.wav
should give you a graph of the wave file. if not,
then something is wrong. We could work it out off
list if you like.

should give you a graph of the wave file.
This may be confusing... note that vu passes
the wav file to it's standard output, and so
you would want to put that some place other
than the terminal screen:
vu < foo.wav > /dev/null
