Hi :)
how can I access the editors?
To the "User Preferences" I added "Yamaha TG33/Sy22", "Yamaha
DX7",
"Roland MT-32" and "Oberheim Matrix 1000". I didn't read the list
of
drivers carefully right now, but I guess this are the only devices
provided by this list, I own.
It's my first trial on the quick, I just want to take a look now, so
excepted of the DX7's MIDI out, non of the synth is connected to the
PC's MIDI interfaces, IOW I didn't test "Auto-Scan" yet. Is this needed
to get access to the editors? If so, I need to continue later :(.
Is there an archive with other devices, that aren't available by a
default JSynthLib-0.20.0.jar?

Hi Ralf,
you should proceed like this:
1.) Start jsynthlib: java -jar JSynthLib-0.20.0.jar
2.) Add required devices: Menu Window -> Preferences -> Add Device
3.) Create a new Library: menu Library -> New Library
4.) Create a new Patch in the Library window: menu Patch -> New Patch
5.) Right-click the patch -> Edit...
I think there should be more devices available in the latest development
version available in SVN trunk:

I haven't used the program for quite a while, so I can not speak for the
quality of the trunk version.
If you need more help, feel free to join the devel mailing list (
http://sourceforge.net/p/jsynthlib/mailman/). It's really low-traffic, and
I think developers will be happy to get feedback from a real user.

Some of the devices in their support list have librarian-only support
(you can't edit patches). From what I've gathered, you have to send a
patch bank to the device (so it has the same patches in it as what
you're looking at in JSynthLib), and then pick the patch you want to
edit, and right-click. The JSynthLib project has never gained much
momentum -- everyone agrees a free Java-based sysex editor/librarian
would be a good idea, but no Java programmers ever want to work on it.
So it's never been very well developed.

The auto-scan never worked well for me; it's better to add your devices
by hand.

I don't know about other devices, but I think there is a CVS version
around somewhere. They don't release very often.

I didn't test http://ctrlr.org/ , but it might be useful.
